OUTREACHES

Martus is the outreach ministry of Universiteitsoord. Martus offers students and residential members growth opportunities by means of outreaches, projects, tours and camps. This is where we can make a difference in the world. During varsity recess, students go on outreach tours and camps: they go on cycle tours, a concert tour, tutor outreaches assisting matrics, holiday resort outreaches, building camps and student “jols” outreaches.

During the rest of the year we reach out to needy communities in and around Pretoria on a weekly basis. Each ward also organises a yearly ‘One Hit Wonder’ outreach – a once-off outreach that is planned and executed in Pretoria at short notice.

There are mainly three types of outreaches that the Martus committee helps to facilitate:

·        Local or continuous outreaches

·        Holiday outreaches

·        One Hit Wonders
