Universiteitsoord is located in the heart of TUKS. The congregation consists of two parts:

·        the Student Ministry, which serves as a spiritual home for students from all over the country

·        the Residential Ministry – families and individuals from all over the city.

Together, the two parts of the congregation give us a unique integration of experience and stability with energy and spontaneity.

Our congregation professes that God loves people and that the Lord lovingly and mercifully embraces all people and uses each one of us for His kingdom. As a spiritual family, we try to express this radical love of God and to share God’s vast, colourful grace without reserve.

That is why Universiteitsoord is an open, inclusive congregation where everyone is welcome, regardless of your gender, race, status or sexual orientation.

Green Leaf Ministries is a ministry of the Dutch Reformed Church Universiteitsoord with the aim to serve English students living on the Groenkloof Campus of the

University of Pretoria.

Charlotte Sibanyoni is the ministry leader who started up this ministry in February 2020 - 2022.

We look forward to serving the larger student community with grace and love and to see more and more students grow in faith rooted in Jesus Christ.

Who is Charlotte Sibanyoni?

Reverend Charlotte Bonsiwe. N. Sibanyoni is enrolled for a PhD in Semitic Languages at the University of Pretoria. Rev. Sibanyoni has recently been appointed as the first black female Hebrew lecturer at the University of Pretoria (and in the country), she teaches first year students Hebrew. She will also be the first black female to complete a PhD in Semitic Languages in the country. In 2018 she was ordained as the first black woman in the Dutch Reformed Church. She is passionate about young people, therefore she is currently affiliated with NG Universiteitsoord working on Green Leaf Ministries focusing on the needs of students on Groenkloof campus.

Her favourite quote:

“We never know what tomorrow holds but we do know that God holds tomorrow

and we should find comfort and joy in this promise.”
